The brand Carlino has a long tradition of 4 generations. It was born and it is composed primarily of experts and specialists briar cutters, masters of the cut: the so-called sawyers!
The company was founded in 1931 by brothers Luigi and Arturo Carlino. Even with great sacrifice, the brothers Carlino do their product to be appreciated quickly and so in the following years, increasing their production, establish them as the world's largest producers of briar sketches and confirm them as true industry leader.

With the onset of the Second World War the activity undergoes a limitation due to the fact that many employees are called to arms, but the activity continues despite the conflict and the production of sketches for pipes doesn’t cease. Only later, from 1947 to the early 50s, the company reassembled and resumed its activities in full capacity.

In 1964 the management of the company passed to Carlino Vito, the son of Arturo, who renews and continues the tradition by founding the brand “CALABRIA PIPE di Vito Carlino”, today considered one of the best professionals in the industry. He produces briar sketches and plateaux at the highest level, also intended for very demanding customers, always looking for excellent grain and special cuts, offering high quality briar pieces from which derive pipes of great value.
Subsequently joined the company Carlo Carlino, the son of Vito, today the owner of CALABRIA PIPE, which follows the footsteps of the father, learning carefully the various secrets of the trade and he succeeds equally as a great briar cutter. Together they decide to extend the production obtaining from their sketches finished pipes at the highest level, adapting as much as possible to a market that is constantly evolving, in terms of shape and design also.
“All exhibits, in fact, are made by our hands using only briar of Calabrian origin. Each processing step is carried out entirely in our company, from the cutting of the briar roots to the boiling, from the natural aging of the pipe up to the realization of high-quality pipes, prestige and unique value.
After more than 80 years of history and tradition, CALABRIA PIPE, with great pride of its founders, is a great reality, above all, the only company which provides an unique and comprehensive processing at every stage.
